Following the huge success of their annual Cropredy Convention in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, pioneering British folk rockers Fairport Convention announce their Autumn 2024 Tour, which includes the Mill at Banbury on 22nd October, and Nettlebed Village Club 5th November.

The Fairport Convention 2024 Tour will see the band that launched British folk-rock celebrate 57 years in business. As they embark on their journey around the UK, Fairport’s long-established reputation as an exceptional live band continues to flourish.

Kicking things off in Sheffield’s Crookes Club on Tuesday 15th October, their nationwide excursion will take in 24 dates, before wrapping up in The Exchange, Twickenham on Sunday 10th November.

“Fairport’s Cropredy Convention has once again delivered the goods. Musically, it is eclectic and exciting. There are only good vibes in the field which is genuinely the friendliest festival. It is a unique and completely special place.”

Whilst Fairport Convention has seen many changes over the years, one thing has remained the same – their passion for performance. Curating a repertoire from albums old and new, audiences can expect a set stuffed full of fan favourites with some surprises along the way.

As the four chaps continue to carry on the Fairport baton, they prove to be Fairport’s most consistent and long-lasting line-up – 28 years.

About Fairport Convention

Fairport Convention have been entertaining music lovers for over half a century, having formed in 1967. During that time, the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes, but one thing has remained the same – Fairport’s passion for performance.

Fairport Convention have won a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, and Radio 2 listeners voted their ground-breaking album Liege & Lieg ‘The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’. Their story has been celebrated with television documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.

The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar, Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals. Fairport will be joined on stage by former member Dave Mattacks on drums.
