British folk-rock legends Fairport Convention have announced a bumper Autumn UK Tour for 2025, marking yet another milestone in their storied 58-year career. The tour kicks off on 8th October in Kinross and wraps on 2nd November in Liverpool, coinciding with bassist Dave Pegg’s birthday.

The band, who are gearing up for a sold-out homecoming show at Cropredy Convention this August, will play 23 dates across England and Wales, including a five-night run in Scotland.

A Band That Shaped British Folk-Rock

Formed in 1967, Fairport Convention pioneered the fusion of traditional folk with rock, forging what would become the “electric folk” sound. With accolades including a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2’s Most Influential Folk Album of All Time for Liege & Lief, the band’s influence remains profound.

Celebrating 40 years since their landmark album Gladys’ Leap, this tour will reunite fans with the classic post-reformation line-up: Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Ric Sanders, and Chris Leslie, now Fairport’s most enduring formation, together for 28 years and counting.

Oxfordshire Show for Local Fans

Local fans can catch the band on Sunday 19th October at The Mill, Banbury, a short journey for followers in Oxford, Bicester and surrounding villages.

What the Critics Say

“Fairport is an institution, a festival, purveyors of memories, and keepers of the folk flame. But most of all they are a brilliant live band.” — Folk & Tumble

“Stuffing their set with a surprising amount of new material for a vintage act, Fairport are still clearly having fun and brought the house down.” – The Guardian

Expect a setlist that spans fan favourites, hidden gems, and new material, delivered with the warmth, humour, and virtuosity that Fairport fans cherish.
