The 2024 General Election results are in for Oxford East, Oxford West & Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester & Woodstock, Didcot & Wantage, Henley & Thame, and Witney.

The results see Anneliese Dobbs (Labour) and Layla Moran (Liberal Democrat) hold their seats, but previous conservative MP’s Victoria Prentis, David Johnston and Robert Courts lose theirs to completely wipe out the Tory party in Oxfordshire.

The county now has 5 Lib Dem MP’s, and 2 Labour.

  • Oxford East – Anneliese Dodds (Labour)
  • Oxford West & Abingdon – Layla Moran (Liberal Democrats)
  • Banbury – Sean Woodcock (Labour)
  • Bicester & Woodstock – Calum Miller (Liberal Democrats)
  • Didcot & Wantage – Olly Glover (Liberal Democrats)
  • Henley & Thame – Freddie Van Mierlo (Liberal Democrats)
  • Witney – Charlie Maynard (Liberal Democrats)

The turnout at polling stations was noticeable down on 2019.

Nationally, Labour have won the majority vote by a landslide, with Sir Keir Starmer taking the role of Prime Minister.

Elsewhere, former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn retained his Islington seat, and Nigel Farage took Clacton as the newly formed party won 4 seats.

There was good news for the Green Party who won 4 seats, including co-leaders Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay winning for the first time in Bristol and Waveney Valley.
