You won’t need one of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets to get your hands on some chocolate in Bicester this Easter – just a golden pebble.
Families are invited to join the first ever Easter Egg Hunt, organised by Bicester Town Council, in Garth Park, off Launton Road, on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 11am to 3pm.
Hundreds of coloured pebbles and the all-important golden pebbles will be hidden around the park and children will need to collect four of the coloured pebbles and one golden pebble to win a prize. Entry will cost £2 (cash only).
The pebble-hunt is part of the council’s Easter celebrations and also includes activities such as Zorbing, giant football darts, and arts and crafts stalls run by charities and volunteers. There will also be hotdogs made by a team from Bicester Garrison and visitors can also join the raffle to win an Easter cake made by Crafted Cakes.
All proceeds from the day will go to the Mayor’s chosen charity, Bicester Baby Bank, whose volunteers have also supported the event.

Mayor Cllr Harry Knight said:
“This is the first time the council has staged an Easter family event, and we would love to see as many families as possible come down to Garth Park and enjoy the fun.
“After reviewing our events calendar, we felt there was a gap in the early part of the year and decided a fun day during the Easter holidays would provide some much-needed enjoyment.
“We have worked closely with the trustees at the baby bank and I would like to thank them for the fantastic job they have done sourcing and spending hours painting pebbles for the day. I would also like to thank our sponsors R & D Catering Service Bicester, Bicester Mortgage and Insurances and Cherry Picked Residential without whom we would not be able to stage this event.”
Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt can be bought on the day. For more information view https://www.bicester.gov.uk/
