Fans of British comedy are in for a treat next spring as Harry Enfield, one of the UK’s most influential satirists, brings his brand-new live show Harry Enfield and No Chums! to Oxford for one night only at the New Theatre Oxford on Saturday 28th March 2026.

The self-proclaimed “stupid idiot” and creator of some of television’s most enduring comic characters will take to the stage for an evening of laughter, nostalgia and insight into a four-decade career in comedy.

From Loadsamoney to Kevin the Teenager

For comedy fans of a certain age, Harry Enfield would have played a significant role in catchphrases shouted across the playground or workplace. From the Thatcher-era bravado of Loadsamoney to the teenage angst of Kevin the Teenager, Enfield’s characters have mirrored (and often mercilessly mocked) British life since the 1980s.

Over the years, he’s shared screens with long-time collaborators and chums Paul Whitehouse, Kathy Burke and Charlie Higson, and inspired generations of sketch comics who followed. On the big screen Kevin & Perry Go Large (2000) captured the Ibiza popularity perfectly, and still has Trance music fans raving about the soundtrack 25 years later.

In Harry Enfield and No Chums!, he’ll look back on 40 years of “arsing about” in comedy, revisiting fan-favourite sketches and revealing how some of his most famous characters came to life. Expect sharp political satire, the odd bit of self-mockery, and plenty of mischief.

Your turn to ask the questions

After the performance, the audience will have a chance to quiz Harry directly in an open Q&A session. Whether you’re curious about how he built his characters, what he’s most proud of, or how he feels about today’s comedy climate, this is your opportunity to find out.

“Brilliantly silly and strikingly insightful”

Few comedians have captured the spirit of the times as vividly as Enfield. His work on Saturday Live, Harry Enfield’s Television Programme, and The Fast Show helped define British sketch comedy. Fans can expect an evening that’s both hilariously irreverent and surprisingly reflective, a celebration of how comedy has changed, and how it hasn’t.
