Blackmore, who has become one of the most recognisable figures in the sport after achieving a series of historic “firsts” as a female jockey, has been working with The Jockey Club as Head of Ladies’ Day at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Alongside the meet-and-greet, Westgate says visitors will also be able to access complimentary hair and make-up sessions delivered by the team at the Debenhams Day Spa.
Clare Martin, acting centre director at Westgate Oxford, said: “Partnering with The Jockey Club to host Rachael Blackmore is a fantastic highlight within our events calendar. As one of the most respected figures in sport, Rachael’s commitment to engaging the next generation — particularly women — is something we are thrilled to support.”
Blackmore previously said a day at the races offers “so much opportunity for people to socialise with friends and meet new people”, and that she was keen to help engage more women with the sport.
