There is just one month to go until Big Feastival returns to the Oxfordshire Cotswolds for another August bank holiday weekend of music, food and family entertainment.

The festival will take place at Blur bassist Alex James’ farm near Kingham from Friday 28 to Sunday 30 August.

Now marking its 15th year, Big Feastival has become one of Oxfordshire’s biggest summer events, combining main-stage music with chef demonstrations, comedy, street food, family activities and late-night entertainment.

This year’s headline acts are Basement Jaxx on Friday, The Streets on Saturday and Bastille on Sunday.

The 2026 music line-up brings together dance, indie, pop, drum and bass, soul and festival favourites across the weekend.

Basement Jaxx will open the headline run on Friday, bringing a catalogue that includes Rendez-Vu, Romeo and Where’s Your Head At.

Saturday’s headline slot belongs to The Streets, with Mike Skinner due to perform the 2004 album A Grand Don’t Come for Free in full.

Bastille will close the festival on Sunday, with singalong favourites including Pompeii, Bad Blood and Happier.

Food remains at the heart of the festival

Big Feastival is as much about food as music, and the 2026 programme brings a strong line-up of chefs to the Big Kitchen.

Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan is among the headline culinary names, alongside Anna Haugh, Emily English, Rachel Allen, Poppy O’Toole, Sally Abé, Meera Sodha, Tom Barnes, Nokx Majozi, Jon Watts and others.

Festivalgoers can expect live cooking demonstrations, food talks, masterclasses and hands-on cookery sessions across the weekend.

The Smokery will return with fire-cooking and barbecue demonstrations, while the festival site will also offer a wide range of street food and dining experiences.

Comedy and podcasts

The comedy programme is also a major part of this year’s festival.

Joel Dommett, Suzi Ruffell and Ivo Graham are among the names on the bill, with Shappi Khorsandi, Harriet Kemsley, Daniel Foxx, Scummy Mummies and Alex Horne and The Horne Section also listed.

The Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley will bring a live edition of their podcast Fact Up, while fans of The Traitors can catch The Traitors Improv Show.

The comedy line-up gives Big Feastival another draw beyond the main music stage, especially for visitors looking to plan a full day rather than simply arriving for headline sets.

What happens after dark?

When the main stage closes, the festival will continue across its late-night areas.

Alex James’ Cheese Hub is set to host DJ sets from names including Simon Pegg, Chris Stark, DJ Spoony, Sarah Story, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul.

The Outpost will bring late-night sets from Sweet Female Attitude, Fabio & Grooverider, The Allergies and Revival House Project.

The Barn also returns for another year, giving weekend visitors more reasons to stay on site after the headline performances.

Family entertainment

Big Feastival continues to position itself as one of the UK’s most family-friendly major festivals.

This year’s family programme includes Taskmaster Club, MC Grammar, Nick Cope, Gabby’s Dollhouse, KPop Demon Hunters Disco, The Flying Seagull Project and Lizzie’s Way Woodland Play.

There will also be children’s theatre, craft activities, circus school, outdoor play and special family shows across the weekend.

That mix of music, food and children’s entertainment is one of the reasons Big Feastival has become a regular fixture for families looking for a bank holiday festival that works for different ages.

Why it matters locally

Big Feastival is one of the major summer events in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, bringing thousands of visitors to the Kingham and Chipping Norton area across the August bank holiday weekend.

That makes it important not only as a music and food festival, but also as a visitor economy event for local accommodation providers, food suppliers, transport services and nearby towns and villages.

Its continued focus on family entertainment also gives it a different feel from many large music festivals, with the programme built around daytime activities as well as evening headline performances.

With one month to go, this year’s line-up suggests another busy bank holiday weekend on the farm.
