Stagecoach West have rolled out a package of timetable and route upgrades across Oxford on 30th November, timed to support Oxfordshire County Council’s transport initiatives and rising demand. The company says the changes will make journeys faster, more frequent and better connected across the city and to key hubs.
Chris Hanson, Managing Director, Stagecoach West:
“The implementation of the temporary congestion charge by Oxfordshire County Council allows us to bring in these improvements to services in and around Oxford. Enhancing the capacity on our increasingly popular services to and from Oxford Parkway Park & Ride as well as creating new links – including linking Yarnton with Begbrooke and Kidlington”.
What’s changing
- More buses / longer hours: Routes 1, 2, 2A, 8, 10, 14, 600, 800 get improved timetables and extended evenings.
- Oxford Parkway Park & Ride served by three Stagecoach routes: 2/2A, 600, 800 — “turn-up-and-go” links to the City Centre.
- Redbridge Park & Ride faster to town: 600 and 800 run limited-stop journeys every 15 minutes.
- Route 600 extended: now Thornhill P&R ↔ JR Hospital ↔ Cowley ↔ Redbridge P&R ↔ City Centre ↔ Oxford Parkway P&R — linking three Park & Ride sites with the city and hospitals.
- Route 800 extended: now Horspath Road ↔ Redbridge P&R ↔ City Centre ↔ Oxford Parkway P&R, with some trips to Begbroke, London Oxford Airport and Yarnton.
