The sun has gone down on this year’s Wychwood Festival and what a blast it has been.
As first timers to this festival we really enjoyed it – there was a great selection of bands, entertainment and fun activities.
Texas really was one of our favourites and the no-nonsense Sharleen Spiteri was fabulous – what a voice! She had the crowd eating out of her hand as she belted out tune after tune.
We also enjoyed music from Sister Sledge, who kicked their set off with the classic ‘Lost in Music’ and went on to sing a string of their old and new tunes; Stereo MCs, Ocean Colour Scene, The Coral, Corinne Bailey Rae, CVC and The Amy Winehouse Band.
Another highlight for us was Shaun Williamson, AKA Barry from Eastenders, and his fun Barrioke. We joined in renditions of ‘I Will Survive, Delilah, Living on a Prayer and so did the rest of the audience!
As the first real summer event of 2024 – people were ready to let their hair down and party! It was lovely to sit in a field, eating, drinking and listening to some great music.
Wychwood Festival, just across the Gloucestershire border in Cheltenham, attracted people across all ages, from babies to grandparents, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the perfect weather.
Aside from the full schedule of music and comedy, there was plenty for both children and adults to do. From shopping at festival stalls, craft activities using glass, willow weaving and clay; there was a story area for youngsters, as well as games, circus tricks, fair rides and more! Foodwise we were spoilt for choice – there was everything you can think of from Greek souvlaki, pizza, noodles, curry to Raclette, paella and fish and chips.
Wychwood Festival had a fun vibe and we can’t wait for next year. Tickets are now on sale for 2025, for more information view https://wychwoodfestival.com

Interested to know whether the wychwood reviewer was camping. My experience plus many others was – toilets were worse than disgusting on the camp site. I have camped at Wychwood for several years and always said how great toilets were, cleaned regularly etc. But this year 2024 were bad! Queues more than 50 people cos many of the toilets shut due to being over full with excrement!! There are not enough toilets for the entire campsite. Only one group of around 15!!
