A local vandal that has been terrorising a house in Bicester, Oxfordshire, has been caught on CCTV and there is an urgent appeal for any witnesses who may have seen the person.
In the CCTV video taken this morning just after 6am (18/12/23), we can see the assailant climbing over the wall, and sneaking towards the house before triggering the spotlight.
At this point they freeze, turn round, and when discovering they have been caught on camera, run away into the night.
The resident who wished to remain anonymous said:
“This vandal has been making our lives a misery for weeks. Every morning we have woken up and dread to see what has happened. We’ve had cereal in the toilet bowl, snow angels and all sorts of hijinks. I’ve also been personally attacked, when I woke to find part of my head had been shaved. Enough is enough, so I bought a CCTV camera to catch the culprit in the act.”
“This morning, we came down to find my sons football goal and all the footballs in the kitchen, with muddy ball prints everywhere. My son was so upset.
I was so glad to find we picked them up on the new camera breaking and entering into our property, I just hope someone recognises them so we can pass this on to the police.”
The vandalism started on the 1st of December, and is one of a number of incidents reported all over Oxfordshire and beyond. Local residents have reported other acts of vandalism, and at this time it’s not known is this is the same individual or part of an organised gang.
The public are urged not to touch the visitors if found, but to immediately contact us at crime@oxfordshireguardian.co.uk or to comment below with any reports of events you may have seen or heard of.

It’s not the only reports of breaking and entering reported in Oxfordshire over the festive period. Christmas Eve is notorious for a spike of reports of a stranger in homes.
There have been multiple sightings of an unknown male, approximately 6 foot tall with a stout build, with grey hair and beard. The suspect has been described as wearing a red suit with white fur trim, black boots, matching red hat, and carrying a large sack.
Often though, the mysterious visitor is often unseen, and the only sign of entry is a half eaten mince pie, snowy foot prints, and reports of the sound of bells jiggling and a “ho, ho, ho”. While police are encouraged by this jolly demeanour, the advice for anyone concerned is to secure all doors, windows and unexpected entry points like the chimney.
There are many nicknames given by local residents for the intruder, including Santa Claus, St. Nick, Kris Kringle, and Father Christmas. Although, he may have been operating international under the alias Papa Noel, Sinterklaas, Pere Noel, Joulupukki, Babbo Natale, and Ded Moroz.

There also have been sightings of accomplices, which may be children due to their diminutive size, coining the nickname Santa’s little helpers but are known as elves. Described as short in stature, usually no taller than a child. They have pointy ears and rosy cheeks, and often wear colourful clothing, pointy hats, and curly-toed shoes.
Christmas elves are said to be mischievous beings who enjoy playing pranks and spreading laughter during the holiday season. There is a newspaper article titled Elf on the Shelf, where they are described to hide in Christmas trees, move ornaments around, and leave surprises for children to find.
