Triple murderer Jed Allen wrote ‘I’m sorry’ in blood on his bedroom wall after stabbing his family in Didcot, an inquest heard this morning.
But speaking at Oxfordshire Coroners’ Court this morning Detective Sergeant Ali Driver said there was no clear motive for Allen’s attack at their family home in Vicarage Road.
The deaths of mum Janet Jordan, 48, her partner Phillip Howard, 44, and their six-year old daughter Derin Jordan sparked a police manhunt across Oxfordshire on May 23 for the 21-year-old.
Allen was found dead by two dog walkers two days later in Cherwell Close near Old Marston, Oxford.
Det Sgt Driver said: “Everything seemed normal with him.”
Speaking at the inquest he told the court Allen had written ‘I’m sorry’ in blood on his bedroom wall.
He also said Allen left a note in the house which read ‘I know the truth. I do not want it for my family and friends. This is the end.”
Oxfordshire Coroner Darren Salter said: “There is overwhelming evidence Jed Allen murdered them.”
He recorded a conclusion that Ms Jordan, Mr Howard and Derin died of unlawful killing and gave a cause of death as multiple stab wounds.
