Stagecoach West is introducing changes to several Bicester bus services from this Sunday, 22 February 2026.

The operator says the adjustments are designed to improve punctuality and reliability, with faster journey times planned on the S5 route between Bicester and Oxford city centre.

S5: Bicester to Oxford

The current S5 and S5A services will merge into a single route, which will continue under the name S5.

Daytime and evening frequencies will remain the same as the combined S5 and S5A timetable.

Other changes include:

  • Minor timetable adjustments throughout the day
  • Reduced late-night journeys on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Some late-night services will no longer serve Glory Farm Estate

Between Oxford Parkway and Oxford city centre, the S5 will be trialled as a limited-stop service along Banbury Road. Buses will stop only at:

  • Oxford Parkway
  • Summertown Shops
  • Keble Road
  • Oxford city centre

Stagecoach says the changes aim to deliver quicker and more reliable journeys between Bicester and Oxford.

  • Service 26 – Bicester Town Centre to Kingsmere
Minor timetable adjustments to improve reliability.

Operator response

Chris Hanson, Managing Director of Stagecoach West, said:

“We’re always looking for ways to make our services faster and more reliable for our customers and we are always listening to their feedback to help improve our services. The trialling of changes to the S5 service, in particular, will hopefully make journeys between Bicester and Oxford quicker, while the timetable adjustments across other routes will help ensure buses run more consistently.”
