Veterans, serving military personnel and cadets in Oxfordshire will be able to travel free on Stagecoach buses on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day this November.
The offer runs throughout the operating day on Sunday 8 November and Wednesday 11 November 2026, helping passengers reach services, parades and other commemorations.
Who qualifies for free travel?
Serving personnel can travel in uniform or show a valid military ID card to the driver. Reservists and cadets qualify when travelling in uniform, while veterans can wear medals, a Veterans Badge or recognised veteran insignia.
Passengers should show the relevant identification or uniform when boarding. Stagecoach’s published offer includes Oxfordshire as part of its national bus network. Megabus, Transport for London and Bee Network services are excluded.
Martin Gibbon, managing director of Stagecoach West, said in a statement: “Remembrance is an important opportunity for communities across Oxford to come together, reflect and pay tribute to all those who have served, and those whose lives have been affected by conflict.
“We’re proud to continue offering free travel to serving personnel, veterans and cadets as they take part in commemorations across the country. It’s a small gesture of our appreciation for the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces community, and our way of helping people come together to remember and pay their respects.”
The company says it has been a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant since March 2015 and holds Gold status under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, which recognises support for the Armed Forces community.
Passengers can check timetables and service updates through the Stagecoach Bus app before setting out.
