What will be at the market?
The line-up covers ceramics, jewellery, artwork, knitwear and homewares, alongside food stalls. There will be mulled wine, hot drinks and mince pies, with the Tipsy Farmer bar also taking part.
Christmas trees will be on sale and Colour Splash by Claire will offer face painting. Visitors should bring both cash and a payment card for purchases from the different traders.
Saturday’s music programme includes Witney Town Band, Blake School Choir, Kaimana and Chris & Chris. The historic farm setting gives shoppers a chance to combine browsing with a short walk from the town centre.
Where to park
General parking is free at the Cogges Hill Road car park. Use OX28 3FR and follow the brown Cogges signs from the A40. A signposted path leads from the car park to the entrance.
Do not follow a satnav down Church Lane for general parking: it is a no-through road and has no general visitor parking. The pedestrian entrance uses the different postcode OX28 3LA.
Blue Badge parking is available at the end of Church Lane, turning left by the entrance. Cogges advises drivers to take care because pedestrians also use this approach. Its travel page includes directions for each entrance.
Coming on foot and planning access
Cogges is around ten minutes’ walk from central Witney, with footpaths and a cycle route connecting it to the town. Visitors arriving by bus can walk from the centre rather than use the car park.
Accessible toilets are available near the farmyard and in the Blue Badge parking area. Baby-changing facilities are provided in the toilets. As a rural heritage site, Cogges has areas where surfaces and historic buildings can present access challenges; its accessibility guidance explains the facilities.
For the market, pet dogs must remain on short leads in the farmyard and cannot enter the barns. Assistance dogs are permitted throughout the site under Cogges’ access policy.
