Mark your calendars! On Midsummer’s Day, 21st June 2025, Thame will host its first-ever Pride Festival, a joyous celebration of inclusivity and diversity that promises to bring the community together in vibrant style.
A Festival Like No Other
While exact details are yet to be released until the launch event on the 29th January, we know it will be a fun, colourful and inclusive event. There is no doubt it will be one of best 2025 Pride festivals in Oxfordshire and worth a visit.
The heart of Thame will be transformed into a lively Pride Village, with the town centre closed off to welcome visitors. With family-friendly entertainment and live music across two stages, this is an event for everyone.
Expect dazzling performances from West End stars and national television personalities, who are lending their talents thanks to their close ties to the town.
Whether you’re a local resident or planning a visit, this festival is your chance to experience Thame like never before, with activities designed to celebrate diversity and create an inclusive atmosphere for all ages.
Organisers with Experience and Ambition
The festival is being organised by the same talented team behind the hugely successful Thame Music Festival, which attracted over 3,000 attendees annually before its pause during the pandemic. Drawing on their expertise, the organisers expect a similar turnout for Thame Pride, with the added pull of the energetic Pride community.

Community Partnerships and Activities
Thame Pride has partnered with Lord Williams’s School, Thame Library, and Thame Museum to host a variety of educational activities aimed at raising awareness about diversity and inclusion. This partnership underscores the festival’s focus on being not just fun but also informative.
Local sports clubs are getting involved, too:
- Thame Women’s Rugby Club will be hosting friendly challenge matches.
- Thame Runners are organising a special fundraising event this spring to support the festival.
Backed by Local Support
Thame Pride is a true community effort. With financial support from Thame Town Council and sponsorship from several local businesses, the festival showcases the town’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
Deputy Mayor David Dawson praised the festival, saying:
“The Thame Pride Festival is an important step forward for Thame. We are an increasingly diverse community, and the Pride Festival will demonstrate what an inclusive and welcoming town we are. This is going to be a fun and informative weekend for everyone.”
A Fun and Family-Friendly Day
The Pride Village will cater to all age groups, offering:
- Live music
- Performances
- Activities for children
- Food and drink stalls
This event is designed to be a welcoming space for families, individuals, and visitors from far and wide, making it a highlight of Thame’s community calendar.
Why Thame Pride Matters
