One of the most influential and provocative comedians of his generation is back on UK soil. Jim Jefferies, the Australian-born, UK-forged stand-up now based in LA, brings his brand-new tour Son of a Carpenter to the New Theatre Oxford on Thursday 13 November as part of his highly anticipated UK tour.
Jefferies has become one of the defining voices in modern stand-up, known for mixing sharp political and cultural commentary with brutally honest storytelling. His comedy doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects, but it’s always delivered with wit, irreverence and charm.
A Global Comedy Titan
Born in Sydney but forged in Britain’s comedy circuit, Jefferies has grown into a bona fide international headliner. Over his career he has released ten stand-up specials — five of them Netflix hits — and is widely regarded as one of the most successful comedians of his generation. His most recent special, High & Dry (2023), saw him riff on newly married life, koalas, male pattern baldness, and why he’s sworn off drinking for good.
Fans can also see his latest Netflix release, Two Limb Policy, which premiered in August, which has more of his trademark honesty and razor-sharp humour.
Jefferies also co-hosts hit podcasts (I Don’t Know About That and At This Moment), expanding his reach to millions of listeners worldwide. In 2019, he was crowned Stand-Up Comedian of the Year at the Just For Laughs Festival, a nod from the industry that cemented his status as one of the most respected names in comedy.

On Screen and Beyond
Comedy fans will also know Jefferies from his other ventures:
- The Jim Jefferies Show (Comedy Central, 2017–2019), a critically acclaimed satirical take on politics and culture.
- Legit (2013–14), his cult FX sitcom which he co-created and starred in.
- The Snake (FOX, 2025) – his current hosting gig, a prime-time reality show testing persuasion, fear and charm.
-
Him (2025) – Jordan Peele’s new production, in which Jefferies appears alongside Marlon Wayans, Julia Fox, and Tyriq Withers (releasing September 2025).
