Saturday Live Comedy Night:
7th June – Jack McLean, Sol Bernstein, Mark Bittlestone, Toussaint Douglass
A power-packed line up of wit, satire and surreal humour.
- Jack McLean – Multi-award-winning Northern comic (Hull What’s On New Comedian 2022, Yorkshire Comedy Breakthrough 2023), known for his heartfelt storytelling and surreal punchlines. BBC New Comedy Award finalist.
- Sol Bernstein – A living legend in a shell suit. The alter ego of Steve Jameson, Sol is the world’s oldest (and unluckiest) Jewish entertainer, with a mythical career and hilariously dated gripes about modern life.
- Mark Bittlestone – Cambridge-educated, award-nominated, unapologetically hilarious. Mark’s stand-up explores LGBTQ+ identity, social hypocrisy, and academic absurdity with finesse.
- Toussaint Douglass – An absurdist disruptor with a razor-sharp voice. Toussaint blends race, relationships, and the surreal with unflinching honesty, neurodivergent nuance, and rising star charisma.
14th June – Dani Johns, Tom Toal, Paul F Taylor, Ben Norris
Quirky insights and big laughs from four sharp comic minds.
- Dani Johns – A Bristolian firecracker with magnetic energy. Sharp, sassy, and candid, she’s a storytelling force and one of the region’s fastest-rising comedy stars.
- Tom Toal – Endearing and self-deprecating, Tom’s storytelling has won hearts at the Edinburgh Fringe and beyond. His comedy is heartfelt, honest and often hilarious.
- Paul F Taylor – Award-winning and delightfully unhinged, Paul fuses surrealism with sharp punchlines and unpredictable left-turns. A thinking comic’s comic.
- Ben Norris – A seasoned circuit legend with relaxed charm and nimble crowd work. Former Mock the Week regular and Fringe veteran, Ben’s wit is sharp, warm and quick on its feet.
21st June – Gordon Southern, Matt Richardson, Alison Spittle + Special Guest
Expect a mix of fast-paced storytelling and bold observational humour.
- Gordon Southern – A fast-talking, globetrotting comedy hurricane. Mixing satire, storytelling and lightning-fast improv, Gordon’s sets are a masterclass in pace and punch.
- Matt Richardson – A familiar face from The Xtra Factor, Dancing on Ice, and stand-up tours across the UK. With infectious energy and showbiz tales, he fuses charisma with relatable honesty.
- Alison Spittle – Irish comedy royalty. From Nowhere Fast (RTÉ/BBC) to podcasting hit Wheel of Misfortune (BBC Sounds), Alison blends personal vulnerability with razor-sharp social commentary, surreal wit, and Midlands charm.
28th June – Sean Percival, Simon Wozniak, Maureen Younger + Special Guest
Stand-up with punch, personality, and fearless edge.
- Sean Percival – The real deal from the Black Country. An ex-welder with comedy chops forged in the working men’s clubs, Sean’s no-nonsense realism hits hard and leaves crowds howling.
- Simon Wozniak – Outspoken, wildly original and uproariously honest. Simon’s comedic bullet points leave no sacred cow untouched. A rising star with bite and brains.
- Maureen Younger – Unfiltered, multilingual, and magnetic. Maureen brings fiery insight and killer compering to every stage, from West End runs to Jamaica vs The World. A genuine crowd-slayer with global experience.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, The Glee Club is Oxford’s comedy cornerstone. Perfect for date nights, mates nights, or just escaping the week’s routine. Book early, laughter this good tends to sell out.
