Flavours from the Silk Road
Fresh off their win at the British Street Food Awards 2025, chefs Bahriddin Chustiy and Muzaffar Sadykov of OshPaz – the UK’s only Uzbek food truck – will be serving up an authentic taste of Uzbekistan. Expect crowd-pleasing dishes like:
- Wedding Plov – a national dish of fragrant rice, meat, and spices
- Lagman – hand-pulled spicy noodle stew
- Vegan and vegetarian options
These beloved dishes offer a chance to try something new and delicious, with recipes rooted in centuries of Silk Road culinary tradition.

Live Music, Dance & Culture
Beyond the food, visitors will enjoy free performances of Uzbek music and traditional dance, interactive cultural presentations, and storytelling sessions. It’s a rare chance to #TasteUzbekistan and dive into one of Central Asia’s most captivating cultures.
A Celebration of Heritage and Hospitality
The Uzbekistan Caravan is part of the wider Uzbekistan: Heart of the Silk Road campaign, led by the UK-based Uzbek diaspora and supported by Uzbekistan.Travel, the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the British Council, and digital finance platform Moneff.
“We want Brits to fall in love with this extraordinary Central Asian country,” explains Uzbekistan’s Tourism Ambassador to the UK, Sophie Ibbotson. “Uzbekistan embodies every Silk Road fantasy – from camels crossing deserts to bazaars trading precious silks and spices – but it’s also a young and energetic country, with thriving contemporary fashion, food, and music scenes.”
Whether you’re a foodie, a culture lover, or simply curious, this one-off Oxford stop is sure to offer something memorable for the whole family.
