Children and young people who are supported by Nai’s House, a charity offering mental health support through a blended youth and wellbeing service, are having the opportunity to play guitars, drums and sing, performing on stage at a free Christmas concert at the Bicester Ex-Services Club on 17th December.

The group have been attending free music sessions delivered by Community Albums, funded by Sanctuary and Bicester Village ‘Unlock Futures’ Fund.

For many of the young people, this is their first time on stage, and an activity that they never imagined themselves being able to do.

The focus is on having a go, having fun and celebrating the term’s achievements, with everyone encouraged to participate.

Kane Chamberlain, from Community Albums, said

“The aim of the sessions at Nai’s House is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment in which everyone can come together to learn and play music. Each individuals’ circumstances and background are different, but music is a common thread that bonds the individuals and enables them to channel their emotions into music. The concert is an opportunity to demonstrate to the young people and their families that they have something to be proud of.”

The free concert is taking place on Sunday 17th December, at 19.00hrs at the Bicester Ex-Services Club, with family, friends and members of the local community all invited to join the festive celebrations.
