Tim Vine wearing a grey top hat and red jumper against a green valley backdrop

Tim Vine will bring his new stand-up show Sillypun Valley to Oxford and Chipping Norton in May 2027, with comedy magician John Archer joining him on tour.

The comedian will perform at The Theatre in Chipping Norton on Saturday 8 May before heading to New Theatre Oxford on Saturday 15 May. Both Oxfordshire performances start at 7.30pm.

The show combines the rapid-fire one-liners that have become Vine’s calling card with props and musical interludes. It follows his previous tours BREEEEP! and Sunset Milk Idiot, with a new collection of jokes for the 2027 run.

One-liners, props and John Archer

Vine’s comedy is built around wordplay and deliberately daft ideas, rather than a long narrative or a topical message. For Sillypun Valley, the announcement promises a fast succession of new gags, props and short musical diversions.

John Archer will also appear on the tour, bringing his combination of comedy and magic. His inclusion gives audiences a second performer on the bill alongside Vine’s stand-up.

Vine began performing on the London comedy circuit in the early 1990s and went on to take The Tim Vine Fiasco to Edinburgh. His television work has included ITV’s BAFTA-winning The Sketch Show, Taskmaster and Celebrity Pottery Throwdown.

He has twice won Dave’s Best Joke of the Fringe award, in 2010 and 2014, and brought his audience-interview format to Radio 4 in The Tim Vine Chat Show. Away from stand-up, his projects include the film Rocker ’Brella Fella, starring his Plastic Elvis alter ego.

Tickets for Oxford and Chipping Norton

Chipping Norton tickets cost £29.50 including booking fees. Friends and Patrons have access from 10am on Wednesday 28 October, with general booking opening the following morning. The theatre lists the performance as suitable for ages 12 and over.

For the city date, use the New Theatre Oxford booking page. Ticketmaster lists an Oxford presale from 10am on 28 October, followed by general sale at 10am on 30 October. Presale access depends on the seller’s eligibility rules.

The two local dates fall a week apart, giving Oxfordshire audiences a choice between the Chipping Norton theatre and the larger city venue. Anyone requiring accessible seating should arrange this through their chosen theatre’s box office before booking.
