Bicester Village has an outdoor playground with timber towers, climbing routes and slides, giving families a place to pause during a shopping trip. The photographs in this guide show the play area as featured in our April 2025 article.
Information checked: 16 October 2026. The Village confirms that the playground remains a visitor facility and may close in extreme weather. Its public information does not specify a separate playground timetable or age limits. Check with Guest Concierge before making a special trip.
What is in the Bicester Village playground?
Designer TouchWood Play says the playground was inspired by rural village buildings. Its design includes towers, nets, platforms, balancing logs, a hollow tree trunk and a tubular slide, with different routes through the structures.
Some equipment involves climbing and elevated crossings. Choose activities appropriate to your child’s ability, stay close enough to supervise and follow the rules displayed at the entrance. The existence of paths into a play area does not establish that every piece of equipment is accessible to every child.

Where to find it
Address: Bicester Village, 50 Pingle Drive, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX26 6WD.
Use the current Village map or ask a Village host for the playground. Boutique locations can change, so the old shop-based directions and static maps have been replaced with this live map link.
Opening, entry arrangements and supervision
The Village’s FAQ warns that extreme weather can close the playground. Do not assume it will always be available throughout shopping hours.
Our original guide described entry as free, but the current published FAQ does not set out a playground admission policy, age range or detailed use rules. Guest Concierge can confirm current arrangements on 01869 366266. Ask about age restrictions, footwear and any accessibility needs when planning your visit.
Keep an adult with children using the equipment; seating beside a playground is not a substitute for supervision.

Toilets and accessibility
The Village’s accessibility information lists accessible toilets in its seven washroom areas, with no RADAR key required. It also lists accessible parking spaces near entrances and wheelchairs available to borrow, subject to availability.
Check the live map or ask staff for the nearest toilet and baby-changing facilities. The Village’s statement that its boutiques are wheelchair-accessible is not a detailed access assessment of the playground’s climbing equipment. Contact Concierge about the route and the facilities your family needs.
Can you bring a dog?
Well-behaved dogs are allowed in Bicester Village on short leads. Individual shops and restaurants decide whether to admit them. This corrects the earlier statement that only assistance dogs could enter the Village.
The general Village policy does not establish permission to take a dog inside the playground. Check entrance signs or ask staff about that separate area.
Getting there
The official travel page gives directions from M40 junction 9 via the A41. Standard parking is complimentary; follow the parking team’s directions on arrival.
Bicester Village station has direct trains from Oxford and London Marylebone. It is a different station from Bicester North. Check current services and any engineering works before travelling.
From Oxford, Stagecoach’s S5 serves Bicester Village. Use the operator’s current timetable for the stop, departure time and return journey rather than the older Arriva reference in this guide.
Correction and update, 16 October 2026: we have corrected the Village’s dog policy and removed unsupported claims about universal playground accessibility, guaranteed opening hours and suitability for all ages. The original photographs are retained with dated captions.
